CLARKS SUMMIT — Highland Associates, a multi-disciplined firm specializing in architecture, engineering and interior design, announced Mount Saint Mary College, Dominican Center, Newburgh, New York was selected for publication in American School and University 2015 Educational Interiors Showcase. The project is featured in the August 2015 edition of the magazine and online at SchoolDesigns.com.

An annual competition honoring educational interior design excellence, the Educational Interiors Showcase spotlights projects representing some of the most effective learning environments in America.

A jury of American Institute of Architects (AIA) members and education administrators evaluated submissions from architectural firms, school and universities across the country. Seventy-seven projects in nineteen categories were chosen for publication in AS&U, monthly educational facilities, purchasing and business administration magazine reaching 57,000 facility planners, school and university administrators, and architects with this issue.

This is the 25th year the competition has been held.

Each project was considered based on the following criteria: innovation, adaptability and flexibility, sensitivity to community and context, transparency, timelessness, blending of indoor and outdoor space, sustainability and maintenance, effectiveness in meeting program requirements, repurposing and reuse of space, and indoor environmental quality.

Highland Associates, which is on its 27th year in business, has offices in Clarks Summit and New York, New York.
