TUNKHANNOCK — The Endless Mountains Barbershop Chorus will hold a free clinic, titled “How to Be a Great Singer!” at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays, Oct. 31, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 at the Dietrich Theater. Whether one sings in a church choir, with a group, in karaoke or just in the shower, he or she can benefit by attending these sessions.
The Endless Mountains Barbershop Chorus and its quartet Vocal Accord will present the clinic.
Vocal Accord has a mix of experienced and novice talent. The tenor, Raleigh Bloch, earned two bronze medals at international competition level in 2004 and 2005. Lead singer Don Overdorff is from a family of singers and started at a very young age in church and school choirs, solos and quartets. He has been singing lead in the quartets for 30 years. Lou Volpetti sings baritone in two quartets and two choruses and bass in his church choir. Bass singer Dane Bower is the novice of the group with three years of experience.
In the short time its has been together, Vocal Accord has performed for the Rail Riders baseball games three times, the Keystone College Music Festival, the Hillside Harvest Moon Festival and many schools and assisted living centers.
