SCRANTON — The Downtown Hoedown for Hope, a fundraiser for Marley’s Mission, will take place from from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Backyard Ale House, 523 Linden St., Scranton.

The evening will include a variety of raffles, a three-hour open bar and passed hors d’hoeuvres with entertainment provided by local country musician Dani-elle.

Support is the key to the fundraising success of Marley’s Mission, where “hope comes alive for children and their families who have experienced trauma.” Proceeds from the event will provide equine-assisted psychotherapy provided at no cost to children in an eight-county service region, including Pike, Wayne, Monroe, Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Luzerne and Philadelphia.

All items for the auction are donated by local merchants and friends of Marley’s Mission. Joey Zarcone, Jonathan Cimini, and Val Serine-Langan are chairing the event.

Tickets are $50 and may be purchased by e-mailing hoedown@marleymission.com or calling 570-587-HOPE. Checks for tickets can be mailed to Marley’s Mission, P.O. Box 505, Scranton, PA 18505.
