FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS — Mickey R. Ameigh, former mayor of Dalton, successfully climbed the highest free-standing mountain in the world and the highest peak in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, 19,341 ft. above mean sea level in August.

A Dalton resident from 1985-2014, Ameigh now resides in Friendswood, Texas. He was also a long time-warden at the Wyoming County Correctional Facility.

Ameigh shared this photograph with the Journal in hopes that his “Dalton and Clarks Summit friends will enjoy.”
