CLARKS SUMMIT — Laughing to raise money sounds, well, funny.

But that’s precisely the point of this years Giving Tuesday fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1 Everything Natural for Indraloka Animal Sanctuary.

Every year following Thanksgiving, malls, stores and e-commerce stores around the nation begin the countdown to Christmas. But Giving Tuesday is a new movement with a different plan. Instead of buying, why not give?

That’s exactly what the folks at Everything Natural intend to do this first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and they’ve got a hilarious spin on doing so with their Laughter for Tractors event.

This year, Barry Kaplan will be on stage at the store, prepped and ready to show off his comedic skills (and potentially bad puns) to induce some belly laughs for a good cause. Customers and audience members must donate any amount of money to hear one of Barry’s latest and greatest jokes in support of Indraloka Animal Sanctuary and its quest to purchase a tractor for this upcoming winter.

Special guest Johnny Braz will join Barry on stage to help fine-tune the novice comedian’s jokes, and every dollar donated will be doubled by a matching gift. Additionally, every donation of more than more $20 using the hashtag #donate in a comment on Indraloka’s Facebook page (indralokaAS) will earn extra money.

Everything Natural and Indraloka Animal Sanctuary will present a fundraiser, ‘Laughter for Tractors,’ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at the store in Clarks Summit.
