Little Sisters of the Poor announce new council at Holy Family Residence in Scranton

The Little Sisters of the Poor recently announced the appointment of a new Mother Superior and assistants. From left, Sister Mary Augustine, councilor; Mother Provincial Margaret Regina, provincial of the Little Sisters of the Poor’s Brooklyn Province; Mother Theresa Louisa, mother superior of the Little Sisters of the Poor’s Scranton community; Sister Laurelliya, assistant to the mother superior; and Sister Kathleen, councilor.

SCRANTON — The Little Sisters of the Poor, who minister to the elderly at Holy Family Residence, Scranton, recently announced the appointment of a new mother superior and assistants. Assuming new roles are Mother Theresa Louisa, superior; Sister Laurelliya, assistant; and Sister Mary Augustine and Sister Kathleen, councilors.

The Little Sisters, who have been serving the elderly of Northeastern Pennsylvania since 1908, work closely with staff, volunteers, and benefactors to create a family spirit for the residents who make their home with them. They welcome the elderly who have limited funds and provide for their needs so they can thrive in an atmosphere of respect, dignity, and love.
