Happy New Year! How exciting to ring in 2016! We hope everyone made wonderful holiday memories and are looking forward to this brand new year.
I am so excited to share the news that the Dalton Community Library is offering free children’s tickets to Disney on Ice this January. “Dare to Dream” is the theme for this year’s show. In order to receive a free children’s ticket, just stop in the Dalton Community Library to take out five children’s books to read or listen to, write the titles on the Disney form provided by our library, and get your form stamped by one of our librarians. It’s that simple. There is also free Disney bookmarks and a coloring sheet to enjoy.
The ticket is good for either of two performances: 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16. Tickets are eligible for ages 2-12. This is a great opportunity to easily earn a ticket to a great show loved by the kids. Stop in anytime before Jan. 12.
Also during January, the library will offer a children’s reading club. “Explore the Galaxy at Dalton Community Library” is the theme and it will begin on Jan. 11, lasting until Feb. 26. Children who would like to join can stop in to take out books to read or spend some time listening while someone reads to them. This club is open for all ages and any amount of books can be read. There will be small prizes, such as tattoos, bookmarks and stickers that I’m sure the kids will like.
Although our StoryTime and Kid’s Crew groups are on a break during this month, it’s easy to see that we’ll keep our kids reading with some fun, winter clubs. And don’t worry grown-ups, our adult winter reading club, Cabin Fever, is coming next month. Also, regularly scheduled adult programs will continue through January. Check our website for details at lclshome.org/dalton.
Everyone at Dalton Community Library wishes everyone a Happy New Year and best wishes for a healthy and safe 2016.
