SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — Summit University of Pennsylvania’s Board of Trustees voted to appoint Lisa Konzelman as vice president of Institutional Advancement on Friday, Jan. 29.

Konzelman, who has over 20 years of fundraising, event planning and project management experience, previously served as the university’s executive director of institutional advancement and director of the annual fund and special events.

Under her leadership, the Summit University Golf Classic raised $850,000 for student scholarships over the last 10 years. The school’s premier fundraising event, the golf classic also enjoyed a 100 percent major sponsor renewal rate for the past five years.

Her experience also includes organizing regional alumni and donor events; coordinating the annual President’s Breakfast, a networking event for community professionals and overseeing fund development, including planned gifts and capital project campaigns.

An alumnae of Summit University of Pennsylvania, Konzelman completed the Certified Fund Raising Executive Program at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. She served as the sponsorships committee chairperson for the Northeast Pennsylvania Susan G. Komen for the Cure 25th Anniversary, mobilizing 95 women volunteers to raise $100,000 in support from community businesses. A graduate of Leadership Lackawanna, she also volunteered as a group advisor and served on the nonprofit organization’s alumni committee.

She and her husband Rich have three adult children and five grandchildren.
