Happy February! This month at the Dalton Community Library, we will start new sessions of our children’s StoryTime and Kid’s Crew programs.

I know a lot of little ones have been waiting for this announcement. Join us at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays, starting Feb. 2, for StoryTime. The children will review colors, numbers and letters, dance, sing and, of course, listen to some wonderful books. We have a lot of fun and make new friends while learning. StoryTime is for any age child who is not yet in elementary school, and all are welcome. Come share the smiles and have a good time with our group.

Also starting on Tuesday, Feb. 2, is our after school group, Kid’s Crew. This group is for 1 grade and up, and begins at 4 p.m. During February, we will use KEVA Planks, which the kids are so excited about. This group is a friendly and creative group of kids who enjoy sharing ideas and working together. New members are always invited. The program lasts about an hour.

Our Children’s Winter Reading Program will continue during February and run until Feb. 26. There is still time to join. Stop in to get some books to read or listen to. Keep track of how many minutes you read or listen and earn small prizes such as Star Wars tattoos and stickers. All ages up to 12 years old can participate.

The adult weekly groups for Majong, Bridge, Casual Chat and book clubs are on our schedule as usual. We’ve had requests for a chess group and would like to gather any interested members. We’re looking for both experienced players or beginners, and we have someone who can moderate the group. If you are interested, call the library at 570-563-2014, email JFamiletti@albright.org or stop in to inquire. We can also be found on the web at lclshome.org/dalton with our weekly program schedule.
