SCRANTON — Actors Circle will present “The Children’s Hour” by Lillian Helman, directed by Patricia Purcell, from Feb. 11 through 14 and Feb. 18 through 21 at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Road. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

“The Children’s Hour” is a serious play about two women, Karen Wright and Martha Dobie, who run a school for girls in 1939. One pupil, Mary Tilford, is mischievous, disobedient, and untruthful, and often leads the other girls into trouble. This drama unfolds when Mary starts a vicious rumor about the two headmistresses.

Members of the cast, which includes several Abington area residents, are Rebekah Conrad, Carol Davis, Tamara Evans, Gia Festa, Samantha Harrison, Madison Kingsborough, Megan Malone, Ashley Michaels, Liz Naro, Katherine Priestash, Lucy Rothfuss David Spitzer, Kate Von Bergen, Katherine Wozniak. Davis is also stage manager.

Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $8 for students. Feb. 11, tickets are discounted at $8 for general admission and seniors and $6 for students.
