NORTH ABINGTON TWP. — The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) announced the opening of the bidding process for a food concessionaire at the new Lackawanna State Park pool complex.

According to Park Manager Kevin Koflanovich, this is the park’s first time seeking a new concessionaire in nearly 20 years. The previous vendor served customers at the park since 1997.

DCNR is accepting bids until 2 p.m. Feb. 24. Sealed bids should be mailed to the DCNR Central Office in Harrisburg. Details can be obtained online at dcnr.state.pa.us or or by calling the park office at 570-945-3239.

The concession is located in the new pool complex, with serving windows for both park and pool patrons. All of the buildings, including the concession building, were replaced during the construction project for the new pool and splash park.

The park announced in August the new complex will open Memorial Day weekend, 2016.
