At the recent Margie Memorial Award presentation, from left, Atty. John Brazil, Mary Theresa O’Malley Ruddy, Patrick O’Malley, Award recipient Karen Cavanaugh, Matt O’Malley and Leo Ruddy. The award is established in memory of Margie Holodnak Davis by her family. Margie was a victim of domestic violence and was murdered at the age of 26 by her estranged husband David Davis, on June 9, 1980. The award is presented to an individual who defines Margie’s character, her love of life, family and community. The recipient of this award must have had a positive impact or is actively involved with the Women’s Resource Center. Karen Cavanaugh received the Award for her hard work on behalf of her late sister Cathleen Cavanaugh who lost her life due to domestic violence.
