SCRANTON — Local golfers are invited to the first ever Heritage Explorer Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 26, at Pine Hills Country Club in Taylor. Proceeds benefit projects and programs supporting the mission of Lackawanna Heritage Valley (LHV): to facilitate community action in the preservation, promotion and development of the region’s history, cultural heritage, and natural resources, including the development of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. with tee-off at 8 a.m. for the captain and crew tournament. Lunch will be served at Pine Hills Bar and Grill, followed by an awards presentation. In addition to 18 holes of golf, the event includes live entertainment, contests and door prizes. The cost is $100 per player. For non-golfers who would like to attend the luncheon, tickets are $50.

Board members of Heritage Valley Partners, the non-profit partner of LHV, and community volunteers are planning the tournament as part of a series of special events commemorating the 25th anniversary of Lackawanna Heritage Valley. A major fundraiser for LHV, organizers aspire to make the Heritage Explorer Golf Tournament an annual tradition in the heritage area. Munley Law is the presenting sponsor of this new summer event.

For more information on the golf tournament, sponsorship opportunities, or to register, email jimel@lhva.org or call 570-963-6730, extension 8203 or visit lhva.org.
