SCRANTON — The Scranton Cultural Center announced its first-ever Scranton Cultural Center Honors, an elegant evening modeled after the Kennedy Center Honors. The event is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 31, with four organizations selected as honorees: Allied Services, Broadway Theatre League of Scranton/NAC Entertainment, Lackawanna County Department of Arts and Culture and People’s Security Bank.

A cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. with the awards ceremony immediately following. Awards will be presented by the past presidents of the SCC’s Board of Directors. The awards ceremony will feature a variety of local performers, each with a presentation specific to one of the honorees. The proceeds of the event will benefit the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple.

The inaugural Scranton Cultural Center Honors are sponsored by NEPA Pediatrics, Dan Simrell Advertising and Fox 56. The SCC’s 2015-16 Season is sponsored by Toyota of Scranton, L.T. Verrastro Inc. and UGI.

Tickets are $100 and include hors d’oeuvres, premium open bar, desserts and entertainment. They can be purchased at the Fidelity Bank Box Office located inside the SCC in person or by phone at 570-344-1111, or via all applicable Ticketmaster outlets.
