Volunteering is a wonderful thing and anyone can do it.

You can volunteer at a soup kitchen, animal shelter, hospital, nursing home, and different clubs just for kids. When you volunteer you can change a person’s life tremendously. No certain age is required to volunteer. Just once a month can change someone or something forever. Make someone’s day when you volunteer and feel great about yourself.

You learn new things about the activity you are volunteering for. Self-esteem is gained in volunteering, as well as more knowledge, kindness, and helpfulness for yourself and the people for whom you are volunteering.

I volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club in basketball. I help people willing to learn something new. I help teach them a few things and help run drills. As soon as you see someone eager to know something new and smiling, you feel like you’re doing the right thing.

The Boys and Girls Club is always looking for volunteers for all sorts of activities. If you are interested in volunteering you can call them at 570-342-8709.
