LA PLUME — Keystone College recently welcomed Janine Becker, Ph.D., of Shickshinny, as its new dean of enrollment. Becker has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, finance and marketing.

Prior to joining Keystone, Becker served as dean of enrollment management at York College of Pennsylvania. While at York, she oversaw the enrollment management division, including financial aid and undergraduate freshman, transfer, and international admissions. She helped create transparency across campus regarding enrollment trends and challenges, was a leader in the strategic planning process and created a college-wide marketing plan that incorporated branding strategies.

Previously, Becker served as the director of enrollment services at Wilkes University. She also served as the executive director of student services and interim director of undergraduate admissions at Wilkes. While overseeing the Student Services Center, she led the effort to bring financial aid, registrar, cashier and admissions processing together.

Before entering higher education, Becker was a senior director with Sallie Mae, the largest originator and servicer of student loans in the nation. She was responsible for strategic planning, business operations and budget management and directed local public relations outreach and national marketing fulfillment efforts. She frequently spoke at national student loan industry conferences and sales conferences.

Becker received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Toledo and a master’s of business administration with a concentration in finance from Wilkes University. She received a doctorate in higher education administration from Marywood University.
