The Dime Bank received approval for a $17,500 tax credit through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program in order to contribute to the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties. The funds were split between two different United Way programs focused on building children’s success in school and throughout their lives. Funds will be dispered as follows: $7,500 contributed to the Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Program and $10,000 to the approved innovative educational programs designed to enhance the curriculum or academic programs of area schools, including modules for environmental education, robotics, art and music.
