B&B Family Restaurant, 319 Manning Rd., Scott Twp., May 3. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Corners of floor in cooking area of kitchen have an accumulation of dust and crumbs. Sides of fryer and area directly underneath fryer have an accumulation of grease.

John Adams Elementary School, 927 Capouse Ave., Scranton, May 4. Regular inspection; in compliance.

Ciccone’s Pizza, 230 Oak St., Old Forge, May 6. Follow-up inspection; out of compliance. Violations: Hot dog chili sauce, 71 degrees F, gravy, 76 degrees F and marinade sauce, 76 degrees F, which were cooled, were not reheated to 165 degrees F prior to placing in steam table for hot holding. Products were pulled from hot-hold unit and placed on range for rapid reheating. Chicken wings, 50 degrees F were not cooled from 135 degrees F to 41 degrees F within 6 hours after preparation. Product was disposed. Duct tape repair observed on reach-in cooler. Duct tape is not an easily cleaned surface Wall in the ware-wash area is cracked/roughened, and is not a smooth, easily cleanable surface. The food facility does not maintain Food Employee Certification records as required. Owner register for food safety training at the time of this inspection. Owner intend to complete course in May 31.

Kennedy Elementary School, Prospect Avenue & Saginaw Street, Scranton, May 6. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Employee toilet room door was propped open, and not kept closed as required.

McNichol’s Plaza, 1111 S. Irving Ave., Scranton, May 6. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Bulk containers of sugar in the kitchen area not labeled with the common name of the food. Exhaust hood has an accumulation of dust and in need of cleaning.

Nicky’s Pizza & Hoagies, 2 Lonesome Rd., Old Forge, May 6. Regular inspection; out of compliance. Violations: Person in charge is not monitoring the facility closely enough to fully comply with the Pennsylvania Food Code. A Food Employee was observed washing their hands at the ware-wash sink rather than the designated hand-wash sink. Cigarettes, cigarette butts, ashtray found on the table in the ware-wash area during the inspection. Observed half gallon of whole milk with expired dates of 04/28/16 intended for use in the food facility. Pulled product for corrective action. Observed wet wiping cloth in prep area, not being stored in sanitizer solution while not in use. Observed wiping cloths in extremely unclean condition in kitchen area. Time in lieu of temperature being used in the food facility to control ready-to-eat potentially hazardous foods (pizza) without written procedures or documentation to verify disposition of food. Food facility is using manual ware-washing sink as a hand washing sink. Meat slicer, a food contact surface, was observed to have old food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Microwave observed with old food debris and splash on interior ceiling. The hand-wash sink in the prep area was blocked by tables and equipment and not accessible at all times for employee use. The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view.

Rosario’s Pizzeria, 100 Highland Ave., Clarks Summit, May 6. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food ingredient storage containers, in the kitchen area, are not labeled with the common name of the food. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. The deli slicer blade, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. The slicer was disassembled and cleaned during this inspection. The can opener blade, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. The can opener blade was cleaned during this inspection. The wall/floor behind the pizza ovens and the stove top have an accumulation of dust.

Wildcat Saloon and Eatery, 192 Main St., Sturges, May 6. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Non-food contact surfaces (fan guards in the basement walk-in cooler) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dust. The sides of the fryers and grills have an accumulation of grease. Floors under the cooking equipment and refrigerators in the main kitchen have an accumulation of dirt.

Abbiocco, 639 Northern Blvd., Clarks Summit, May 9. Opening inspection; in compliance. Violations: Slop sink has a hose attachment that is hanging below the flood rim of the sink and not an appropriate air gap. Water fill line at cook station has a hose attachment and does not have an appropriate air gap. The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view. Owner completed class on May 1. Will fax certificate to PDA region 3 office.
