CLARKS SUMMIT — Hearing Health USA, which operates at more than 70 locations throughout the northeast, held a grand opening on Thursday, May 12 for its newest office, located in the lower level at 219 W. Grove St. In attendance to welcome the new business to town were Clarks Summit Borough Mayor Patty Lawler and The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce representative Tina Bechaver.

The company offers a variety of hearing health services and products, such as hearing aids. Hearing tests are offered free of charge, and part of the company’s mission is to educate people on hearing health.

“We’re here to be part of the community,” said Thomas Smith, hearing care provider. “We’re here to help.”

Smith said the company mainly sells Starkey brand products, but offers others as well.

People can also come in for testing to be certified to receive free CaptionCall telephones via a government-funded program. These phones include large, easy-to-read screens that display written captions of what the caller is saying. To learn more about CaptionCall, visit captioncall.com, call 1-877-557-2227 or stop by the new Hearing Health USA Clarks Summit location.

The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and by appointment other days of the week. House calls are also available. For more information about Hearing Health USA or to schedule an appointment at the new Clarks Summit location, call 570-319-0244 or visit hearinghealthusa.com.
