Abington area residents inducted into Phi Sigma Tau Honor Society at The University of Scranton

    SCRANTON — Four Abington area residents were among the 22 students at The University of Scranton inducted into Phi Sigma Tau, the international honor society for students of philosophy. Eligibility for nomination requires a major or minor in philosophy as well as excellence in philosophy works. Induction of nominated students is based on voting results of philosophy faculty and current chapter members. The university’s chapter of the honor society was established in 1982.

    The following local students were inducted:

    • Megan Bershefsky, of Factoryville, a senior majoring in international studies

    • Elizabeth Polishan, of Clark Summit, a senior majoring in English

    • Erika Sarno, of Dalton, a senior majoring in biochemistry, cell, molecular biology

    • Cecilia Strauch, of Factoryville, a senior majoring in biology
