PECKVILLE — A new program along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail combines a love of nature with a love of yoga.
Participants will stretch, breathe and hike at Explorer Yoga on the Trail at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 5 at the Blakely Borough Recreational Complex. Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area (LHV) and Jaya Yoga will host the program as part of a series of special events commemorating Lackawanna Heritage Valley’s 25th anniversary.
Donations to benefit Lackawanna Heritage Valley will be accepted.
Hilary Steinberg, owner and instructor of Jaya Yoga, Clarks Summit, will lead the yoga session in a setting overlooking the Lackawanna River, adjacent to the trail. Following the yoga class, participants will embark on a brief hike along the trail. The program concludes with refreshments and light fare immediately following the hike.
Yoga mats will be provided to all participants and pre-registration is required. To reserve a place in the class, contact Julie Imel at 570-963-6730, extension 8203, or firstname.lastname@example.org by June 1.
The program is open to people age 12 and older, and yogis of all skill levels are welcome.
The Blakely Borough Recreational Complex is located at the intersection of Keystone Avenue and River Street in Peckville. Explorer Yoga participants should enter on the Keystone Avenue side of the park.
