SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — The Griffin Pond Animal Shelter’s Fifth Annual Motorcycle Run to benefit its Emergency Vet Care Fund will be held Sunday, June 12 at Legend’s Saloon and the neighboring Dickson City Freight Station in Dickson City.
Nancy Vrabel and Lynn Sepkowski from The Friends of the Shelter, are the lead coordinators for the event.
With the support of the community, the shelter has been able to provide emergency veterinary care for the sick, elderly and injured animals that are in its guardianship due to various reasons, including cruelty case investigations.
Event registration will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at Legends Saloon. The motorcycle ride begins promptly at 11 a.m. from Legends Saloon, with stops along the route at Our Place in Hamlin and the Windsor Inn in Jermyn, ending at Legends Saloon and the Dickson City Freight Station. All bikers should plan to return to Legends Saloon no later than 2 p.m. for afternoon food, music and festivities.
Registration is $20 per rider and $15 per passenger and includes a food voucher for choice of hamburger or two hot dogs, both served with pasta salad upon their return to Legends Saloon, a $5 value. Alcoholic beverages not included.
In addition to registration proceeds, Legends Saloon will also be donating 10% of all sales that day to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
