TUNKHANNOCK — For the ninth consecutive year, Founders Day, Saturday, June 25, will end with Shakespeare in the Park at 7 p.m. in Riverside Park. This year’s event features “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” performed by Gamut Theatre Group. Sponsored by the Overlook Estate Foundation and the Dietrich Theater, this outdoor production is free and open to the public.

This dynamic show runs 80 minutes, and is followed by a talk-back discussion with the audience. Playgoers are asked to bring chairs or blankets for seating on the lawn.

Recommended for ages 12 and up, the production is accessible, employing Gamut’s unique educational outreach style of combining Shakespeare’s original text with modern “narrations” to bridge the most famous scenes from the play together into an easy-to-understand story. The story is performed by five actors from the current Free Shakespeare in the Park production in Harrisburg.
