Allied Services Hospice announces new associate medical director

SCRANTON — Allied Services Integrated Health System announced the appointment of Dr. Edward G. Zurad to the position of Associate Medical Director of Allied Services Hospice, which began serving patients in 2015. Zurad brings with him 31 years of experience as a Board Certified Family Physician to this new role.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Zurad completed his medical education at Jefferson Medical College. He holds certifications in geriatric medicine and gastrointestinal endoscopy, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice. In 2002, he was named Pennsylvania Family Physician of the Year and in 2003, he was awarded the Rural Health Award.

Zurad holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor at Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton and also serves as Clinical Associate Professor at Temple University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He is a Master of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
