SCRANTON — Lackawanna College recently announced it will offer the first-ever bachelor’s degree program in its 122-year history, beginning in the fall 2017 semester. Harkening back to its earliest roots as the Lackawanna Business College, the first program offered will be a Bachelor’s of Science degree in business.

Tuition will cost under $15,000 per year for at least the next three years. Students will have the opportunity to take part in an accelerated program and graduate in just three years by utilizing summer and intersession classes, which feature reduced tuition rates.

New admissions criteria will be applied to aspiring bachelor’s degree applicants. Potential bachelor’s degree applicants who do not meet admissions criteria will be welcomed into associate degree programs with the option to transfer into the bachelor’s degree program.

Additionally, current students or recent graduates in the college’s existing business-related degrees – accounting, business administration, business studies, and sport management – can easily transfer into the bachelor’s degree path should they desire to continue their studies at Lackawanna.

Planning continues for additional bachelor’s-level programs to be announced in the fall of 2016.

Prospective students wishing to obtain more information should contact the admissions office at 570-961-7814 or visit lackawanna.edu/bachelors.
