The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented a $500 check to representatives from the Bill Howerton Memorial Fund, which represents a portion of the proceeds from the recent Field of Dreams Game. Bill Howerton was a long-time area baseball coach who passed away from cancer. A memorial fund was created in his name for the purpose of awarding three annual scholarships and making over $25,000 in donations to the American Cancer Society.
