WAVERLY TWP. — Embracing its vision to “transform the world, one meal at a time,” the Waverly Community Garden is inviting members of the community to become part of the excitement. As the garden, located behind the Waverly United Methodist Church, 105 Church St., continues to grow, volunteers of all ages are sought to help water and weed.

To become a volunteer, email waverlyumc@gmail.com or for more information, contact Beth Ridgeway at 484-333-6602.

The entire garden endeavor is designed to make a difference in the lives of others as the volunteers work together to grow fresh food for the community.

Those whose family or others they know could benefit from fresh vegetables may join the volunteers for Harvest Days and pick their own veggies at no cost. They can also assist in the process of cleaning, sorting, and bagging vegetables for delivery to local food pantries, senior centers, and soup kitchens.

Waverly Community Garden Harvest Days will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Sunday and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays, from now until all of the garden’s produce are harvested.

Additional details about the harvest schedule will be posted on the Waverly Community Garden Facebook page.
