SCRANTON — Master Rick Harsche, owner/instructor of Elite Martial Arts/Royals Karate, will host a free community self-defense class at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10 on Courthouse Square. Registration opens at 6:30 p.m. The program will be held weather permitting.
The session is open to men and women of all ages, and no prior training in martial arts or self-defense is required.
Prior to the community program, Elite Martial Arts/Royals Karate students will participate in a martial arts class on the Square at 5:30 p.m. The community is welcome to observe this special outdoor class.
With locations in Hawley, Honesdale and the newly-opened studio in Scranton, Elite Martial Arts/Royals Karate is a certified member of the World Tang Soo Do Association (WTSDA). Under the direction of Harsche and his team of professionals, students may advance to the level of black belt or master.
Harsche is the head instructor at Elite Martial Arts/Royals Karate. He is a World Tang Soo Do Association (WTSDA) internationally certified 5th Degree Master Instructor and a certified international tournament judge. He has been in training for nearly 30 years.
