FACTORYVILLE — Lackawanna Trail Elementary School Principal Brian Kearney offered welcoming smiles and high-fives to students as they exited their buses on the first day of school, Monday, Aug. 29. Amid the sea of colorful backpacks, lunch boxes, new outfits and fresh haircuts, some children chattered excitedly with each other, while others took it all in with silence and wide eyes.
