MOSCOW — The North Pocono Trojan Band and Marching Units, with the assistance of the North Pocono Band Parents Association, will host a Cavalcade of Bands at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 at the North Pocono Stadium Complex, 701 Church St., Moscow. The event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted at the gates, which open at 5:30 p.m.
In addition to North Pocono, bands and marching units from several regional school districts will participate including Abington Heights, Carbondale, Dunmore, Honesdale, Lakeland, Mid-Valley, Valley View and Western Wayne. Each group will perform its halftime field show. Program books, featuring participating bands, will be distributed free of charge.
The Cavalcade of Bands is an exhibition-style performance, not a competition. Bands and marching units can perform their field shows without worrying about judging criteria, timing and other restrictions. There will be refreshments provided for participants and limited concessions available for sale to audience members. Additionally, T-shirts and airgram greetings will be sold at the event.
North Pocono has been participating in and hosting the Cavalcade of Bands since the event’s inception, with the full support of the district’s faculty and administrators, the enthusiastic participation of the students who perform and the organizational assistance of the North Pocono Band Parents Association.
