RANSOM TWP. — The first meeting of a Newton-Ransom Volunteer Fire Company (NRVFC) EMS committee is scheduled for Oct. 12, the Ransom Township Board of Supervisors announced at its regular meeting Monday, Oct. 3 at the Mount Dewey Community Hall.
The committee is charged with the task of coming up with a feasible solution to the department’s lack of volunteers and funding for the ambulance service before the impending January license expiration. Anyone interested in joining the committee should contact the fire company or one of the two municipalities it serves for more information and meeting details. In other business, the municipality’s fall clean-up will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at the municipal building on Hickory Lane and the Mount Dewey Community Hall on Community Drive. Tires, closed paint cans, waste oil and electronics will not be accepted at this year’s clean-up.
The next regular township meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 in the municipal building on Hickory Lane.
