SCRANTON — Community theater group Actors Circle will present “Simpatico” by Sam Shepard and directed by William Zeranski Nov. 3 through 6 and 10 through 13 at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Road. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday shows at 2 p.m.
Set in the netherworld of thoroughbred racing, “Simpatico” explores themes of memory, loyalty and restitution. When Lyle (Carter), a successful horse breeder in Kentucky, receives a desperate phone call from Vinnie, a troubled barfly living in Southern California, their shady past threatens to ruin them both once and for all.
High society meets the low life in this comedic play by the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “Buried Child.”
The cast includes Mark Zdancewicz, as Carter; KK Gordon, as Vinnie; Kelly Ann Walsh, as Cecilia; Nunzio Caccamo, as Simms; Brink Powell, as Kelly, and Regina Yeager Drouse, as Rosie.
