DICKSON CITY — Cultures will unite when the Daraja Children’s Choir of Africa returns to Northeast Pennsylvania to bring a message of joy and hope through African song and dance.

The choir will perform a series of three concerts on Nov. 13, 14 and 15. The first will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 at Parker Hill Church’s Dickson City campus; the second at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at Parker Hill’s Clarks Summit campus and the third at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre.

All three events are free, but tickets are required. They can be picked up at any Parker Hill Church campus on Sundays or at the church office in Dickson City or reserved by calling 570-341-8383. More information, including times and locations, is available online at parkerhill.org/daraja.

Daraja means “bridge” in Swahili, and the choir, made up of 24 children from Uganda and Kenya, serve as a bridge to connect the people of Africa and America.

The Daraja Children’s Choir of Africa is part of The 410 Bridge, a non-profit organization focusing on holistic community development in Uganda, Kenya, and Haiti. The 410 Bridge exists to connect people within the body of Christ to contribute to the self-developing capabilities of the people we serve.
