SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — Abington Heights High School seniors Shane Cummings, Spencer Gilbert, Kevin Hu and Alexandra Scheuermann were named National Merit Program Semifinalists and will have an opportunity to continue in competition for about 7,400 National Merit Scholarships.

Abington Heights students Maxwell Earl, Alison Kane, Ethan Ross and Chris Suh were selected as Commended Students by placing among the top 5 percent of more than 1.6 million students who took the 2015 PSAT/NMSQT exam.
