TUNKHANNOCK — Photographer Janie Stabinsky, of Jenningsville, ventures out every day to capture with her camera the wonder and beauty of Northeastern Pennsylvania, posting her photos on Facebook for others to appreciate.

From now until Jan. 15, visitors at the Dietrich Theater can also appreciate nature through Stabinsky’s photographs, which are on display in the Sherwood Gallery.

All of the pieces in the exhibit are for sale with proceeds to benefit the theater.

Stabinsky’s theme is the beauty of winter.

A study in ice and snow is displayed near the ticket booth: falling snow, an icy formation, and snow on an evergreen branch. Above the archway into the original theaters is a study of a wintry sunset on Chamberlain Pond. Other photos show a blue jay resting on a piece of pizza, horses against a white landscape, a Red bellied woodpecker perched on a bird feeder and landscapes featuring clouds in the sky on a winter’s day.

Stabinsky is a self-taught photographer with a mission to share the joy of discovering unusual, comic, and beautiful parts of the landscape people drive through or live in and are too busy to see. She invites all to look a little more closely and savor what we they see.
