Children and their families can keep busy during winter break by making their own holiday version of the popular game ‘Memory.’

What you will need:

• A pencil

• Scissors

• One or two pieces of white paper

• Markers, crayons or colored pencils

Instructions:

1. Using a white piece of paper and a pencil, draw a line down the length of the middle of the white paper, then make three evenly spaced lines down the width of the paper, to divide it into eight equal blocks.

2. In each block, draw a holiday picture and color it in. If a color copier is available, a copy of this paper can be made. Without a copier, repeat the beginning steps, making the second paper exactly the same as the first, using the same pictures. There should be two of every picture when finished.

3. Cut out all blocks of pictures with scissors. There should be 16 pictures or holiday cards cut out.

To play:

Shuffle the holiday cards and place face down. Taking turns, each player will choose two cards at a time, hoping to pick two of the same pictures. If your cards do not match, flip them back over. If they do match, keep them in your pile. The player with the most matches at the end of the game wins!
