CLARKS SUMMIT — The Camelot Restaurant and Inn will host The Toast of the Town, a celebrity bartender night to benefit The Gathering Place in Clarks Summit, from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8.

Bartenders Sid Michaels Kavulich, Barry Kaplan, Pat Martin and Selena Waters will concoct cocktails such as “Make it Happen,” a Classic Cosmopolitan made with Stoli Vodka; “Mint to Be,” a Fresh Mint Mojito; and “About Thyme We Finished,” Champagne enlightened with St. Germain Liquor.

Kavulich is representative of District 114, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Kaplan is co-owner emeritus of Everything Natural in Clarks Summit, and a real estate agent at Classic Properties.

Waters is an actress, artist, outstanding athlete of Abington Heights girls’ basketball fame and advocate for people with special needs.

Martin is a storyteller extraordinaire and improv genius with the group “Here We Are in Spain.” He has taught an improv course for The Gathering Place’s Community Classroom.

The Toast of the Town event serves as an opportunity to meet the volunteers helping transform the former firehouse at 304 S. State St. in Clarks Summit into a new inclusive community, arts and education center. Renovation of the firehouse is underway and is expected to be complete within the next few months. The new space will feature an art studio, kitchen, classrooms and an open area that can accommodate small events, exhibits and theatrical productions.
