TUNKHANNOCK — Sidewalks, streets and downtown businesses were packed for the opening night of the Tunkhannock Business and Professional Association’s annual Christmas in Our Hometown event, held Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2 and 3.

Carolers and costumed performers provided entertainment for young and old alike and local churches and organizations handed out refreshments. Whipple Performing Arts Studio dancers performed during the tree lighting ceremony in front of Peoples Security Bank and in the storefront window at Greenwood’s Furniture. The Dietrich Theater hosted many activities, including its ever-popular cookie walk.
