CLARKS SUMMIT — A generational small business has been thriving in the Abingtons for two decades.

Eagle Cleaners opened its doors in March 1997 when Clyde and Jody Croft began their service to the people of the local community. They worked hard to establish a professional, yet family-like atmosphere for all their customers.

Since then, the Eagle Cleaners became a staple business, providing dry cleaning and laundry service to people of the Abingtons, Scranton, Tunkhannock, and Montrose areas. This year, it celebrates 20 years in business.

In 2000, Clyde and Jody’s son, Buddy Croft, came on board as plant manager. He learned the trade from his parents and, in 2013, he and his wife, Kathy, took over the business.

Eagle Cleaners became a generational business serving generations of customers and supporting local charities. Toys for Tots, Marley’s Mission, Susan G. Komen Foundation and MDA are a few of the causes Eagle supports every year.

Buddy and Kathy Croft grew Eagle Cleaners by adding new services, including the lost art of shoe repair. In its 20th year, Eagle Cleaners continues to move forward, building a website to develop a vibrant digital presence.
