TUNKHANNOCK — The Northern Tier Symphony, a non-profit community orchestra, announced its spring program, with concerts at three locations in April and May.

The orchestra, led by music director and conductor Robert Helmacy, will perform at 8 p.m. on the following Fridays:

• April 21 at Tunkhannock Area Middle School

• April 28 at Wallenpaupack High School in Hawley

• Friday, May 5 at Athens Area High School in Athens

The program for the concert consists of the overture to “Lucio Silla” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the tone poem “Mannin Veen” (“Dear Isle of Man”) by Haydn Wood, the overture to Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Nabucco” and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s suite from “Swan Lake” ballet.

All seating for the concerts is general admission. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students of any age. They may be purchased at the door, at Gay’s True Value Hardware, 189 E. Tioga St, or at Greenwood’s Furniture, 61 E. Tioga St. Tickets may also be reserved by calling 570-981-9006.
