CLARKS SUMMIT — The Gathering Place and The University of Scranton are partnering to offer “Craft and Chat” classes, where artists with and without special needs can come together to create and relate. The three-part series kicks off this Friday, April 7, with “Guided Painting” at The Gathering Place.

Classes are limited to 10 participants and the cost of the three-part series is $30.

Graduate students in The University of Scranton Occupational Therapy Department developed the program, which assists with the community integration of special needs individuals. The students are coordinated by Verna Eschenfelder, department assistant professor.

Upcoming sessions include: “Cupcakes Wars” April 21 and “Polymer Clay Day” April 28. Both will also be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at The Gathering Place.
