Marywood University announces summer 2017 athletic camps, clinics

    SCRANTON — Marywood University coaches and teams will offer a variety of camps, clinics and programs throughout the summer of 2017 on campus for various skill levels and age groups.

    Pacers Aquatic Club, May 15 through July 29 in The Aquatics Center at The Center for Athletics and Wellness. For beginner and intermediate swimmers as well as those currently swimming competitively.

    Family Basketball, 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 28, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.Saturday, June 29 in the Insalaco Arena at The Center for Athletics and Wellness. Campers will learn detailed skills and receive competition instruction. Overnight accommodations available.

    Field Hockey, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 17 through 21 on Pacer Field (artificial turf). For girls ages 6 to 14. Campers will go through a dynamic stretch, one game set each morning, skills workout and stations.

    Boys and Girls Soccer, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 through 27 on Pacer Field (artificial turf). Soccer camp members will improve skills and learn new techniques.

    Boys and Girls Lacrosse, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 24 – 26 on Pacer Field (artificial turf). For beginner and intermediate boys and girls. Players should bring lacrosse equipment (including stick, goggles, mouth guard and sneakers/cleats). Goalie training will be available, and goalies are encouraged to bring their own equipment.

    Boys Basketball, Session I from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m July 24 through 28 and Session II from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 31 through Aug. 4 in the Insalaco Arena at The Center for Athletics and Wellness. For boys ages 7-15. Campers will be divided into two groups (ages 7-10 and 11-15) with some flexibility based on skill set and experience. Each day, campers will go through a dynamic stretch, ball handling workout, skill development stations, lecture series and games. Following lunch there will be a lesson/skills clinic.

    Girls Basketball, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 7 through 9 in the Insalaco Arena at The Center for Athletics and Wellness. For girls in grades 2-12. Includes shooting and offensive skills, with a detailed shooting curriculum, focusing on form, mechanics and range.

    Girls Field Hockey, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 7 through 10 on Pacer Field (artificial turf). Pre-season Camp for junior high school and high school girls. Campers will be divided into two groups (ages 13-15 and 16-19), with some flexibility based on skill set and experience. Each day campers will go through a dynamic stretch, skills and fitness workout, stations and a daily competition. The camp will conclude each day with game sets and a fitness activity.
