Guitarist Jason Vo, of Clarks Summit is the Dietrich Theater’s featured performer for Open Mic Night Friday, June 26.

TUNKHANNOCK — This month’s featured performer for the Dietrich Theater’s popular monthly Open Mic Night event is Clarks Summit guitarist Jason Vo.

Open to audiences and performers of all ages, the event is held at 7 p.m. the fourth Friday of each month, through October, in the Peg Fassett Performance Studio at the theater. Admission is free. Sign-ups for performers who wish to share their talents, such as poetry, music, comedy, ventriloquism and more, begin at 6:30 p.m.

Vo is a guitarist specializing in both traditional and percussive fingerstyle. Known for eliciting images of the music he plays, he aspires to transport people to another place whenever they listen to his compositions. He has been featured on WVIA’s Homegrown radio segment, and will play pieces from his new and upcoming album “Impressions.”

Vo’s first guitar was a broken one his father repaired for him when he was about 14 years old. Inspired by the music in church and his favorite bands and artists, he now composes his own music. His goal for the future is to be a full time musician, traveling around the world to share his music and learn from others.
