University of Scranton to host basketball tournaments

The Hilton Scranton and Conference Center is the lead sponsor of University of Scrantons Athletics for the 2015-16 season. SCRANTON — The University of Scranton named Hilton Scranton and Conference Center as its lead athletics sponsor for the 2015-16 season, which includes sponsorship of the Hilton Scranton Invitational (men’s basketball) on Nov. 13 and 14 and the Hilton Poinsettia Classic (women’s basketball) on Dec. 15 and 16.

The men’s basketball tournament was held Friday, Nov. 13 with Stevens Institute of Technology playing Ursinus College in the John Long Center, followed by The University of Scranton versus Bryn Athyn College at 7:30 p.m. The tournament continued Saturday, Nov. 14, with the third place game at 2 p.m. and the championship game at 4 p.m.

The women’s basketball tournament will begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15 with Farmingdale State College playing Eastern University in the John Long Center, followed by the Lady Royals versus Johnson and Wales University at 5 p.m. The tournament continues with games at 3 and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
