BOYS BASKETBALL

Cavs hold off Millionaires

Scranton Prep defeated Williamsport, 72-59, in a non-league game Jan. 16 in Williamsport. Paddy Casey scored a game-high 17 points. Brett Para and Logan Bailey added 10 for Prep.

Cavaliers rout Wildcats

Logan Bailey scored 15 points to help Scranton Prep defeat Western Wayne, 91-43, in a Lackawanna League crossover game Jan. 15 in Lake Ariel. Dean Lucas added 14 for Prep.

Lions fall to Warriors

Elk Lake downed Lackawanna Trail, 54-42, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 game Jan. 15 in Factoryville. Steven Scioscia led the Lions with 14 points and John Maier added nine.

Comets knock off Trojans

Tim Toro scored 19 points to lead Abington Heights over North Pocono, 56-29, in a Lackawanna League crossover game Jan. 13 in Covington Twp. Seth Maxwell contributed 14 points for the Comets.

Red Raiders topple Trail

Blue Ridge defeated Lackawanna Trail, 53-40, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 game Jan. 13 in New Milford. Anthony Berrios led the Lions with 14 points and Steve Scioscia added 11 for Trail.

Cavs clobber Cougars

Logan Bailey scored 24 points to help Scranton Prep defeat Valley View, 92-54, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game Jan. 13 in Archbald. Pat Cosgrove added 15 points for the Cavaliers.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lady Comets defeat Lady Invaders

Nicole Getz scored 12 points to lead Abington Heights past West Scranton, 41-35, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game Jan. 14 in Scranton. Cassie Ksiazek added nine for the Lady Comets.

Lady Lions fall to Lady Warriors

Elk Lake defeated Lackawanna Trail, 50-27, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 game Jan. 14 in Dimock. Ally Decker led Trail with six points while Lexie Kwiatkowski added five for the Lady Lions.

Classics oust Lady Wildcats

Jillian Paulus scored 12 points to help Scranton Prep defeat Western Wayne, 48-20, in a Lackawanna League crossover game Jan. 14 in Scranton. Julia Sirotnak contributed eight points for the Classics.

Lady Comets down Lady Trojans

Hannah Kowalski scored 13 points to lead Abington Heights past North Pocono, 42-32, in a Lackawanna League crossover game Jan. 11 in South Abington Twp. Cassie Ksiazek added 11 for the Lady Comets.

Lady Lions hold off Lady Raiders

Lexie Kwiatkowski scored 17 points to help Lackawanna Trail defeat Blue Ridge, 45-40, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 contest Jan. 11 in Factoryville. Laurelann Penn added 10 for Trail.

Classics top Lady Cougars

Julia Sirotnak scored 17 points to lead Scranton Prep over Valley View, 50-29, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game Jan. 11 in Scranton. Jillian Paulus added 16 points for Prep.

Comets rout Cougars

Abington Heights downed Valley View, 139-35, in a Lackawanna League meet Jan. 14 in Archbald. Sam Jubon placed first in the 200 and 500 free, Ben Vale finished first in the 100 and 200 free, Brendan Conahan was first in the 100 back and 50 free, Charlie Gromelski placed first in the 100 breast and 100 fly and Carter Smith placed first in the diving competition. The Abington Heights 200 medley (Luke Gualtieri, Brooks Houck, Zachary Karabin, Jack Wasko), 200 free (Wasko, Thomas Clifton, Jubon, Gromelski) and 400 free (Jubon, Wasko, Conahan, Vale) also placed first for the Comets.

Cavaliers edge Knights

Scranton Prep defeated Scranton, 86-83, in a Lackawanna League meet Jan. 11 in Scranton. Conor McCall placed first in the 200 individual medley and 500 free, Joe Kyle Bushta finished first in the 50 free, Nico Lastauskas was first in the 100 breast and 100 fly, and Thomas Pfaeffle placed first in the 100 back. Scranton Prep also played first in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay events.

GIRLS SWIMMING

Lady Cougars edge Lady Comets

Valley View defeated Abington Heights, 94-91, in a Lackawanna League meet Jan. 14 in Archbald. Margorie Myers placed first in the 200 and 500 free, Leah Byman finished first in the 50 free and Sydney Dana was first in the diving competition. The Lady Comets 400 free relay team (April Sokalsky, Myers, Laura Hartman, Byman) also placed first.

Classics top Lady Knights

Scranton Prep downed Scranton, 99-70, in a Lackawanna League meet Jan. 11 in Scranton. Peyton McNulty placed first in the 100 and 200 free, Cat Donlon finished first in the 200 individual medley and 100 back, Audrey Campo was first in the 50 free and 100 breast, and Lauren Lanzendorfer placed first in the 500 free. The Classics also finished first in the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relay events.

Scranton Prep defeated Blue Ridge, 60-18, in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match Jan. 13 in Lake Ariel. Zach Kornfeld (106), Sammy Segers (113) and Thor Balavage (220) won by forfeit for Prep. Mike Welsh (132), Liam Moyle (138), Tommy Carroll (160), Bruce Parola (170), Ivan Balavage (182), Chris Bender (195) and Matt McGraw (285) won by pin.

Wildcats crush Cavs

Western Wayne defeated Scranton Prep, 60-21, in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match Jan. 13 in Lake Ariel. Bruce Parola (170) won by decision for Prep and Tommy Carroll (160), Ivan Balavage (195) and Thor Balavage (220) won by pin for the Cavaliers.

Meteors defeat Lions

Montrose topped Lackawanna Trail, 51-18, in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match Jan. 13 in Factoryville. Tyler Baltrusaitis (138) and Tom Kohinsky (145) won by decision for the Lions. Rocco Pacini (182) won by forfeit and Trent Phillips (195) won by pin for Trail.

Cougars down Lions

Valley View defeated Lackawanna Trail, 54-21, in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match Jan. 13 in Factoryville. Justin Ganser (126) won by decision for the Lions. Tyler Baltrusaitis (138), Rocco Pacini (182) and Trent Phillips (220) had pins for Trail.

Invaders knock off Comets

West Scranton defeated Abington Heights, 45-30, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 match Jan. 13 in Scranton. Scott Jacoby (106 lbs.), Sean Myers (138), Owen Hivner (160) and Nick Carr (170) won by pin. Noah Sirianni (113) and Juan Loboda (132) won by decision.

Comets clobber Eagles

Abington Heights defeated Mountain View, 63-6, in a Lackawanna League match Jan. 8 in Kingsley. Scott Jacoby (106 lbs.), Jacob Rosenstein (126) and Juan Loboda (132) won by forfeit; Noah Sirianni (113), Sean Myers (138), Owen Hivner (160), Nick Carr (170), Tom Hildebrand (182), Adam Wellard (195) and Anthony Kimble (285) won by pin; and Chris Langan (152) won by decision.
