FACTORYVILLE — Abington Heights and Lackawanna Trail each won four matches and Scranton Prep won three during the 2016 Lackawanna Trail Duals on Saturday, Jan. 16.

Comets top Cavs

Abington Heights defeated Scranton Prep, 39-28. Scott Jacoby (106 lbs.), Noah Sirianni (113), Jacob Rosenstein (126), Owen Hivner (160) and John Hildebrand (182) won by pin for the Comets. Chris Langan (152) won by technical fall and Nick Carr (170) won by major decision for Abington Heights. Alec Buttner (132) and Liam Moyle (138) won by decision for Scranton Prep. Biagio D’Appolinio (145) and Chris Bender (220) won by pin, Ivan Balavage (195) won by major decision and Thor Balavage (285) won by forfeit for the Cavaliers.

Cougars edge Comets

Valley View defeated Abington Heights, 39-36. Scott Jacoby (106 lbs.), Noah Sirianni (120), Nick Carr (170), Adam Wellard (195) and Anthony Kimble (220) won by pin for the Comets. Owen Hivner (160) won by forfeit for Abington Heights.

Comets rout Red Raiders

Abington Heights defeated Blue Ridge, 54-6. Scott Jacoby (113 lbs.), Juan Loboda (132), John Hildebrand (170), Nick Carr (182), Adam Wellard (195) and Anthony Kimble (220) won by pin for the Comets. Noah Sirianni (120) and Chris Langan (152) won by decision, and Owen Hivner (160) and Joe Makowski (285) won by forfeit for Abington Heights.

Abington Heights topped GAR, 46-27. Scott Jacoby (106 lbs.), Noah Sirianni (113), Jacob Rosenstein (126), Nick Carr (170), John Hildebrand (182) and Adam Wellard (195) won by forfeit for the Comets. Chris Langan (152) won by pin and Owen Hivner (160) won by major decision for Abington Heights.

Lackawanna Trail fell to Scranton Prep, 48-29. Colin Mulhern (120 lbs.) won by forfeit for Trail. Justin Ganser (126), Tyler Baltrusaitis (132) and Trent Phillips (195) won by pin, and Jacob Furneaux (182) won by technical fall for the Lions. Sammy Segers (106), Zach Kornfeld (113), Liam Moyle (138), Tommy Carroll (160) and Matt McGraw (285) won by forfeit for Prep. Biagio D’Appolinio (145) and Bruce Parola (170) won by decision, and Matt Soliman (152) and Thor Balavage (220) won by pin for the Cavaliers.

Meteors knock off Trail

Lackawanna Trail lost to Montrose, 51-18. Rocco Pacini (170 lbs.) and Trent Phillips (195) won by forfeit, and Robert Buck (285) won by pin for the Lions.

Lions hold off Eagles
