LANSFORD — The Abington Heights varsity wrestling team finished six out of 16 teams at Panther Valley’s Coal Cracker Tournament, Jan. 29-30. Ten of the Comets wrestlers placed in the top-8 in their weight classes.

Senior Nick Carr finished first in the 160-pound weight class and was voted as the outstanding wrestler of the tournament by the officials. Carr has a 27-1 record on the season.

Senior Noah Sirianni placed second in the 106-pound weight class and has a 23-2 record this season.

Sophomore Owen Hivner placed second in the 170-pound weight class and has a 23-6 record.

Junior Adam Wellard (195 lbs.) placed fourth; freshman Scott Jacoby (113) and senior Anthony Kimble (220) placed sixth; senior Jack Hildebrand (182) finished seventh; and sophomore Juan Loboda (132), freshman Sam Northup (145) and sophomore Chris Langan (152) placed eighth.

Abington Heights will host Crestwood in a non-league meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11.
