LA PLUME — Keystone College announced the appointment of Joe Lodato as head men’s lacrosse coach.

Lodato takes over the lead of the Giants’ program, effective Aug. 15, after spending last season as the head coach at Northampton Community College following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Misericordia University.

Lodato, who was also a four-year player at Misericordia, takes over for Greg Rosenberg, who led the Giants to a 3-19 overall record in the program’s first two seasons of competition at the varsity level including a 2-12 mark in Colonial States Athletic Conference play.

Lodato coached three players who earned All-Region XIX honors and two others who garnered Academic All-Region accolades this past spring for Northampton. The team won two of its final three games of the season and set a school record for goals in a game in the team’s season finale win over Valley Forge Military Academy.

Prior to the head coaching position at Northampton, Lodato spent two years as an assistant coach at Misericordia where he was active in all facets of the program while helping lead the Cougars to a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Conference runner-up finish and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region playoff appearance in 2015. Lodato was instrumental in helping the program surpass recruiting and academic goals while helping to mentor five MAC Freedom All-Conference players and a pair of MAC All-Academic honorees.

A native of Toms River, N.J., Lodato earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education history with a minor in political science from Misericordia in 2011.
