Abington American advanced to the county title game while Abington National fell in the semifinals of the county bracket in the 2016 District 17/32 City-County baseball tournament.
North Pocono topped Abington American, 16-7, in the county championship game on Aug. 12. Garrett Pietryka and James Brust each had two hits for Abington while Jake Grimaldi and Brian Heard each had one.
Abington American defeated Throop, 10-4, in a semifinal game of the county bracket on Aug. 9. Winner pitcher Xander Davis combined with Gavin LaCoe for 10 strikeouts. LaCoe had three hits, including a triple, Garrett Pietryka had a double and triple, Christian Henzes had a triple, Jake Grimaldi and Mark Pettinato each had a double, and Ryan Robinson-Collins had two hits for Abington. Eddie Kaufman had a single and home run for Throop.
