Abington Youth Soccer League registration, currently underway for the fall season until Sept. 11. Boys and girls born on or between 8/1/97 and 7/31/12 are eligible to play. Abington Gators Youth Swim registration, ongoing, practices begin Oct. 3. Fee: $235 ($100 deposit due at registration). There is a $25 discount for each successive child within the same family and the fee includes a team suit, cap and T-shirt. The Abington Gators is a competitive swim league for kids ages 6-14, a member of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Age Group Swim League. Factoryville Sportsmen’s Club Sporting Clays course, open Wednesdays 9 a.m. to dusk through September. Member cost: $25 for 100 birds and $13 for 50 birds. Factoryville Sportsmen’s Club 3-D archery shoot, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 28 at the club on Lake Winola Road. The event will feature 30 realistic animal targets throughout the woods. After completing the course, archers have an opportunity to win prize money at the egg shoot and long-range target. The fee for club members and archers under the age of eighteen is $8 and the non-member fee is $10. Archers under 12 years of age can shoot for free. Sturdy footwear, bug spray and bottled water is recommended. Spectators are welcome.

Factoryville Sportsmen’s Club regular monthly meeting, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at the clubhouse on Lake Winola Road. This meeting will assume special significance as the club considers a possible land purchase and membership dues increases. All members are encouraged to attend.
